I'm Nicole Sather, Owner and Operator, and I am truly grateful you've taken the time to learn a little about me, my background, and the passion that inspired me to build this business.

My love for animals began at a very young age while growing up on small hobby farms throughout British Columbia and Alberta with my parents and two siblings. From the time I could walk, I was drawn to animals of every kind. Whether it was barn cats, horses, cattle, sheep, or the occasional injured wild creature that needed a helping hand, I always found myself caring for those who needed comfort, attention, and support.

As I grew older, that passion never faded. I spent countless hours helping care for our family animals and assisting neighbours with theirs whenever I had the opportunity. Those experiences taught me responsibility, patience, compassion, and a deep respect for the unique needs of every animal.

​

Throughout my adult life, I have worked in several professions, including professional house cleaning, barn assistance, welding, and as a certified therapy assistant. While each role taught me valuable skills, my heart continually found its way back to caring for animals and supporting families.

​

In 2021, my family and I began fostering rescue animals, and I quickly became heavily involved in their care and rehabilitation. Over the years, I have assisted with animals recovering from a wide variety of medical conditions and injuries, including parvovirus, orthopedic injuries, amputations, wound care, abscesses, and post-surgical recovery. These experiences reinforced something I have always believed: every animal deserves patience, compassion, dignity, and the opportunity to thrive.

While I am not a veterinarian or veterinary technician, I have developed extensive hands-on experience caring for animals with a wide range of medical and behavioural needs. Most importantly, I understand the value of working as part of a team. I am committed to carefully following all owner instructions and veterinarian-prescribed treatment plans, ensuring your animal receives consistent care exactly as directed. Whether administering medications, assisting with wound care, monitoring recovery, or supporting daily routines, my goal is to provide dependable care that gives families peace of mind.

Helping Hands Medical Animal Solutions was created from the belief that sometimes families simply need an extra set of trusted hands. Whether you require daily visits, medication support, companionship for your pet while you're away, transportation assistance, house sitting, or care for an animal with more complex needs, I am here to help.
